Catherine Main
Catherine has an extensive personal and professional background in land conservation in the coastal southeast. Born on Hilton Head and raised on St. Simons Island, Catherine‘s passion for land conservation began early. "Living on the coasts of South Carolina and Georgia my entire life has given me great appreciation for how fragile our coastal communities are, and how land trusts can play a vital role in preserving a community’s quality of life."
Catherine holds a Psychology degree from Emory University and a Masters degree in Environmental Studies from the College of Charleston/Medical University of South Carolina. She worked as a Coastal Planner for NOAA and has experience working with three other land trusts: St. Simons Land Trust, Lowcountry Land Trust and Kiawah Conservancy.

Alex Smith

He previously received his BS in Environmental Science at Virginia Tech, where he learned that he wanted to pursue a career in land conservation. Alex assists with annual and baseline monitors of ECLT’s conserved properties, assists in the protection of new properties, and provides GIS support for the organization. Alex appreciates the unique environments of the Lowcountry and wants to give back to it by conserving the special natural spaces that define the beauty of the region and provide assets to both people and wildlife.
