Are you looking for a way to get more involved in the community? Do you want to work toward the preservation of natural spaces throughout the East Cooper area while meeting new people and learning about the local land protection movement? The East Cooper Land Trust relies on the help of volunteers for special events, field work, and many other areas. If one or more of these activities suits your interest, please get in touch with us via the form at the bottom of the page.
Throughout the year, ECLT holds several special events to raise awareness about our land conservation efforts. Check out our Upcoming Events page for a list of the next events that you may be able to get involved with. Or, you could host your own event, such as a cocktail party, potluck, or cookout to spread the word about ECLT and our important land protection efforts.
Do you enjoy writing? We always need help writing articles for our printed and e-mail newsletters. Perhaps you'd like to help maintain a Twitter feed or other social media apps. If you're into photography, we would love to have your help taking photos at special events and of our protected properties.
Do you have experience writing grants or other fundraising requests? Would you like to help us with our next fundraising event?
Site Maintenance and Monitoring
The Butterfly Garden along the Marsh View Trail usually needs to be weeded every few weeks. We also perform annual visits to the properties we have vowed to protect along with inspections of potential future projects and may be able to use your help.
If you can commit several hours each week to help our Executive Director with administrative duties at the ECLT office, we'd love to have you.
Know of sites that might be eligible for conservation easements or have thoughts on how to preserve the unique character of the area? Perhaps you have relationships with people who may consider protecting their land. We are always looking for individuals connected to the local community who could help us fulfill our mission.
