Paddle 'n Party on Shem Creek - October 16th
The first annual Paddle 'n Party on Shem Creek consisted of four guided kayak trips, thanks to the incredible generosity of Nature Adventures Outfitters. Throughout the day, paddlers could drop into the Post Paddle Party at the Lighthouse on the Creek for live music, oysters, BBQ, and beer. Half Moon Outfitters added to the fun with their “Golden Nugget” 5K SUP Race on Shem Creek at 4pm. Proceeds from the race were donated to the MPLC. The music lineup included: Colleen Yost/Aaron Levy, The Ware Shoals Boys, The Doldrums, Blue Spartina, Will Lewis and Friends, Joal Rush, and Stained Glass Wall.

EcoSpiel I - February 27th
The inaugural EcoSpiel was a huge success thanks to Water's Edge Restaurant and the more than 50 attendees. All sorts of wonderful folks came to discuss the preservation of East Cooper’s natural character through land conservation and other sustainable living measures. This was an opportunity to network with like-minded community members and to hear brief presentations from local groups and businesses focused on the future of the natural environment in East Cooper. We heard from the SEWEE Association, Green Roof Outfitters, DwellSmart, SC Green Fair, and the Sustainable Warehouse.
