East Cooper Land Trust is participating in Lowcountry Giving Day 2015, a 24-hour online fundraising event sponsored by Coastal Community Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of the Speedwell Foundation, East Cooper Land Trust has $20,000 available in incentive funds for the May 5th event. This funding will help create the East Cooper Trail, an off-road walking and biking trail that will connect the Cooper River to the Santee River as well as support conservation in our community.
“We are thrilled for the opportunity to participate in Lowcountry Giving Day 2015 and are so grateful to the Speedwell Foundation.” – says Executive Director, Catherine Main. “I hope each of you will make a donation on May 5th – your participation is so important.”
More than 180 nonprofits are participating alongside East Cooper Land Trust in this year’s event, nearly doubling participation from last year’s event, which raised over $4 million for communities across coastal South Carolina. Lowcountry Giving Day is part of Give Local America, a national day of local giving held in partnership with over 8,000 nonprofits and 80 community foundations from across the country. Because of this broad partnership, Give Local America 2015 is gearing up to be the largest fundraising event in history.
